About Us

Who We Are

The Private Lawyers Forum (PLF) is a professional association bringing together lawyers engaged in private legal practice in Uganda. PLF exists to promote professionalism, ethical practice, member welfare, and access to justice, while providing a unified platform to represent the interests of private practitioners before key institutions.

PLF works collaboratively with government, the Judiciary, the Uganda Law Society, the Law Council, and other stakeholders to strengthen the rule of law and improve the practice environment for private lawyers.

Who can join

Membership Categories

Bar Membership

Advocates enrolled to practice law in Uganda and who are members of the Uganda Law Society.

Associate Membership

Holders of a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university within any Commonwealth country.

Student Membership

Law students enrolled in universities within Uganda and East Africa.

Corporate Membership

Legal departments of companies and institutions within and outside Uganda.
