Onyango Owor is a distinguished Ugandan advocate with over 18 years of experience in both public and private legal practice. He is the Founding and Managing Partner of Onyango & Company Advocates, a respected Kampala-based firm specializing in commercial & corporate law, construction and infrastructure, NGO advisory, human rights, public interest litigation, and international criminal law.
His practice spans foreign direct investment, corporate finance, construction, infrastructure development, restructuring, and corporate advisory. He regularly guides clients through complex procurement processes and represents their interests in Uganda and on the African continent. In addition to his legal career, he is an entrepreneur, an author and sits on boards of boards of various companies and non-governmental organizations contributing his expertise in governance, compliance, and strategic oversight.
As President of the Private Lawyers’ Forum, he leads efforts to protect and promote the professional interests, ethical standards, welfare, and continuing development of private legal practitioners across Uganda.
He is responsible for providing overall strategic direction and leadership to the Forum, Representing PLF to the  key institutions, including the Judiciary, Law Council, Uganda Law Society, among others, Presiding over Executive and General Meetings,  Overseeing the work of PLF committees and governance structures,  Promoting professional standards and ethical compliance,  Strengthening stakeholder engagement and institutional partnerships,  Supporting member welfare, mentorship, and professional development initiatives,  Advancing access to justice and pro bono legal services as well as Promoting innovation and sustainability within private legal practice.
